I am Yara El Ayoubi, Ph.D. in educational psychology. I am a pedagogical counsellor and lecturer at the University of Montreal with an experience in interaction design and teaching.

My research interests focus on effective pedagogical practices and their implementation, design and integration of digital educational resources, teachers' professional development, video clubs and instructional differentiation.

I' m also interested in UX design research, particularly in the process of social, inclusive and participatory design.

My journey
​
In 2014, following a master's degree in multimedia design from Laval University, I started teaching graphic design and creative thinking at Concordia University. My passion for design, pedagogy and research brought me back to the benches of the university, in 2017, to complete a doctorate in educational sciences (option: psychology of education) at the University of Montreal, where I use my combined skills in UI / UX design and pedagogy to advance the learning of all students and offer teachers the means to free up their full potential using digital educational resources.
As part of my Ph.D research, I am interested in the nature of teaching practices and classroom uses that make it possible to use digital resources to maximize the effects on the learning of all students. More specifically, I am interested in the process of implementing digital educational ressources and effective pedagogical practices that support the appropriation of the concept of fractions at the elementary level and the contribution of video clubs to the development of pedagogical practices.
I also actively contributed to several quantitative and qualitative research projects, focusing in particular on the professional development of teachers and on the use of virtual reality and educational digital tools to develop students' skills.

As a pedagogical counsellor, I provide support for program modification/creation, course delivery, reflection on trends, and spread of best practices in pedagogy. To do so, I am always on the lookout for new trends and new technologies that can improve learning conditions.

What I do ...
As an educational consultant, I help build enriching learning experiences and effective resources. That's why I am dedicated to supporting teachers and faculties in the interpretation and use of data from quality research in pedagogy to allow all students to have a better learning experience.
